The University of Potsdam in Germany was founded out of the Potsdam College of Education in 1991. Its history is closely related to the city of Potsdam with its kings and royal residences, beautiful places and parks, its gardens and museums. Today, Potsdam is a city of films and media as well as a university city.

Studying at Potsdam University means undertaking a voyage through time and space. You will encounter places with different auras and varying architectural, cultural, and functional historical backgrounds. Although the university’s institutes and workplaces are scattered over the whole city, they are closely linked, in contrast to mass universities, due to their small scale, communication, and personal relationships.
